Just Transition Fund — North East & Moray

What it is

Scottish Government fund backing the North East and Moray's transition to net zero — 2026-27 offered up to £17m across three streams (commercial/public capital bids £500k–£10m, community capital £100k–£500k, development grants up to £300k). The fund is now closed to applications and no 2027-28 round has been announced.

Verified 2026-08-21 on gov.scot (page updated 9 Jun 2026): top-of-page notice states 'This fund is now closed to applications' — treated as governing. The same page still says development grants (up to £300k resource) have 'no closing date' but 'we may close the process during the financial year once funding is fully allocated', so the two statements conflict; recorded as closed rather than guessing. 2026-27 allocation: up to £17m — commercial/public capital up to £10m (bids £500k–£10m, multi-year to 2030 possible), community/social-enterprise up to £4m (capital £100k–£500k, development grants £300k, participatory budgeting £1m), supply chain pathway £3m. The 11 May 2026 capital-stream deadline comes from the 2026-27 applicant guidance recorded 2026-07-13, not restated on today's page. No 2027-28 round announced. Applications were led by registered charities, businesses or public bodies (individuals cannot apply) with a strong Aberdeenshire/Aberdeen City/Moray connection, meeting Fair Work First — EOIs via JustTransitionFund@gov.scot. Individual-applicant exclusion and Fair Work First are not expressible in engine fields.
