What it is

The Round 28 window has closed. Scottish EDGE is a pitch competition whose main awards are part grant, part loan — Main EDGE offers up to £100,000 on a split grant/loan basis, while Round 28 included a £200,000 Accelerator EDGE award. It is free to enter for early-stage Scottish companies and social enterprises across all sectors, decided by shortlisting then a live pitch.

The 5 Aug 2026 Round 28 launch announced a new £200,000 Accelerator EDGE Award, described as the largest single prize offered through the competition; the same announcement states the main Scottish EDGE award remains up to £100,000 and Round 28 has a £1.5m collective prize pot. Homepage copy still describes ordinary grants/loans as £10,000-£150,000, so valueMax/capture use £200,000 only because the current round has a specific top award. Treat awards as partly repayable where relevant; strand eligibility, accelerator affiliation, social-enterprise status, under-30 directors and pre-trading status are not expressible in engine fields.
